Christ the King Ministries
Joy, Laughter, and a Touch of Holy Chaos
At Christ the King Parish, ministries are where faith comes alive — sometimes quietly, sometimes loudly, and sometimes with someone asking, “Who moved the coffee filters again?”
It’s where newcomers feel at home, long‑time parishioners discover hidden talents, and friendships grow faster than the potluck table. Every ministry — from altar service to children’s programs to celebrating our many cultures — helps our parish become the joyful, welcoming home God calls us to be. And let’s be honest: volunteering isn’t just service. It’s fun.
It’s laughing in the kitchen as the potluck mysteriously multiplies. It’s praying beside someone who speaks your language — or teaches you a new one. It’s discovering the choir really does accept “mostly on‑key” singers. It’s offering your gifts — big or small — and seeing how much they matter.
When you join a ministry, you help Christ the King flourish. You help newcomers feel at home. You help our liturgies shine. You help build a parish where every culture is celebrated and every person is known by name.
Most of all, you help shape a community rooted in friendship, service, and the love of Christ. Whether you’ve been here for years or just arrived in Sudbury, there’s a joyful, meaningful, slightly unpredictable place for you.
Come and see where God may be inviting you to serve.

Our Ushers are the cheerful greeters who make everyone feel at home. They help people find seats, offer assistance, keep things moving, and guide the Communion procession. If you can smile and point to a pew, you’re already halfway trained. Support is provided for everyone wishing to join.
Each Sunday from September to June during the 10:15 a.m. Mass, children head out for their own Scripture time — stories, prayer, discussion, and activities that help them meet God in ways that make sense to them. It’s joyful, faith‑filled, and occasionally involves glue sticks.
All young people who’ve received First Communion are welcome to serve. Servers carry the cross and candles, help prepare the altar, and support the liturgy. No fixed schedule — just come to the Mass your family attends and arrive 15 minutes early. Training and encouragement included.
If you love to sing or play, join one of our choirs. Music brings our liturgy to life, and choir members help lead the parish in song. Weekly practices prepare for Sunday and special feasts. Arrive 10 minutes early to warm up and breathe deeply. All singers and musicians are welcome.
Lectors proclaim Scripture during Mass with clarity and reverence. If you feel called to share God’s Word aloud, we’d love to hear your voice. To join, contact the parish office at 705‑674‑6447.
If you’re active in parish life and have deep reverence for the Eucharist, consider serving as an Extraordinary Minister. You’ll help distribute Communion under both species and serve according to a schedule you choose. Arrive 15 minutes early on your assigned days. Training and diocesan screening are provided.
